The University of Maryland plays host to an impressive array of world-class speakers each year.  This includes the Middle Atlantic Symposium, co-hosted by The Department of Art History and Archaeology and the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery of Art.  For a listing of other activities and programs sponsored by the Department, please consult the most recent events page.  Other departments within The College of Arts and Humanities (History, American Studies, English, Philosophy, etc.) frequently sponsor programming relevant to the study of art history and archaeology– you can visit these departments through the portal at http://www.arhu.umd.edu.  The calendar pages of other interdisciplinary organizations on campus are an additional resource – many of them work closely with faculty and students in this Department.  Two of them are –
