Art History Association (AHA)
The Art History Association fosters awareness of the resources available to undergraduate students in the Department of Art History and Archaeology and the broader university community. AHA organizes day trips to museums in the Washington DC and Baltimore area. Longer trips to Philadelphia and New York enable students to explore the rich and varied museum and gallery offerings of these two metropolitan centers. AHA underwrites the entrance fees to some museums through fundraising efforts. As well members of AHA organize film nights, and publicize cultural events such as concerts, lectures and discussions about topics related to the arts. Through its members the Art History Association encourages students to experience with peers who share their interest the wealth of cultural institutions and museums proximate to the University of Maryland. Members do not have to be a major in the Department; all students are encouraged to join.
